My year 2015 in academia, what for future?

Workshops and Conferences: Attended a decent amount of conferences and workshops but all on my own finance. No Lab funds or university mechanism to cover the cost. It was very hard to manage from pocket and had to sacrifice a few things for that and could not attend two interesting workshops and a conference due to lack of money. That's pretty OK I think. One can't fight the system at this stage. In 2016, no plans to attend any conference or workshop because I don't want to incur debt and thinking of making up for these by taking on-line sessions or YouTube videos would suffice :P

Research: Could not do much in the Lab due to my frail health but tried to make up for it by doing in silico work. However, this year, Allah willing, I plan to do more practical than in silico work. May God be with me. Amen

Collaborations: Four failed and two successful, so it's more bad than good situation...
Lost some good friends and trust, made list of guidelines for next collaboration. However, in 2016, no plans for new collaboration and focus will be on Solo work.

Publications: Did publish a fine amount but not up to the mark so gearing up things and need lots of motivation. In 2016, plan to improve on the target and I have already bought tons of chocolates to keep me going on this one :P

Let's hope and pray this year is more productive, happy and wonderful than the previous one. Amen.
